Located approximately 50 nautical miles west of Pueblo Memorial Airport and 55 nautical miles southwest of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, Westcliffe is a small town that offers genuine old west atmosphere and hospitality. Westcliffe was built in the late 1800s as the end-of-the-line for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad to harvest the rich silver and gold deposits found in the area and many remnants of that ancestry exist to this day.
This is ranch country, and for those seeking beauty and solitude in the great outdoors, it is a prime vacation spot. Recreational activities abound with hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, pack trips and hunting opportunities throughout the area.
